How the EDA is responding to the coronavirus

The Environmental Design Archives (EDA) is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for our team and helping our patrons to do the same. As such, we are closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak according to the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the University of California, Berkeley.

Currently, the EDA is not scheduling any in-person research. We are however offering a variety of remote reference services where someone from our staff can help accommodate research needs:

  • Reference consultations via zoom with EDA Staff, schedule via calendly:

  • Reference photographs of requested archival materials

  • Remote research services

  • Item-level inventories of projects

  • Digitization of drawings

  • PDF scans of manuscript materials smaller than 11” x 17”

  • Assistance with obtaining images for publications

Our doors may be closed but the EDA has quite a bit of digitized collection material accessible for free online. For more information on how to access the collections online, see our Library Guide. Don’t see what you are looking for? Reach out and email:

Please take care of yourselves, do your part to “flatten the curve,” and slow the spread of COVID-19, respect those around you in accordance with our Principles of Community, and stay up to date on COVID-19-related developments on campus

Thank you for your understanding,

EDA Team
