Marc Treib’s interest in architecture can be seen in his student early work at Miami Beach High School. Following his 1966 graduation from the University of Florida with a BA degree in architecture, he was awarded a Fulbright-Hayes Fellowship in Finland to study architecture and design. Following his return to the U.S., he earned master’s degrees in architecture (1968) and arts in design (1969) from UC Berkeley. His accomplished career includes teaching architecture and design courses as a professor at UC Berkeley; lecturing throughout the world, a prolific publishing career; and an active design practice in graphic design (books, posters, exhibitions).

Church Book CoverThe collection spans the years 1959 to 2012 and consists of five series: Personal Papers, Professional Papers, Faculty Papers, Project Records, and Posters. The majority of the collection is comprised of records generated by his student work and extensive career as an educator, author, lecturer, and book, exhibit, and graphic designer. The collection contains materials that underscore his involvement, expertise, and accomplishments in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and design including drawings; writings, presentation, and research materials; and posters and other artwork.
