Welcome to the new blog!
Welcome to the new website! Much of the content has been updated: the list of collections has been divided to facilitate locating designers, there are lots of new images, and some new special features including a monthly staff blog, a featured collection, and some breaking news.
The Archives is fully staffed these days as a result of a number of very generous gifts from our supporters and collection donors. We are delighted to have Chris Marino, our new Reference and Outreach Archivist, and continued contributions from Emily Vigor, Collections Archivist and Cailin Swarm, Assistant Archivist and In-house Designer. We’re also lucky to have Jessie Durant working part-time on the Edith Heath Collection, and students Fiona Brodie and Andrew Manuel. We’ve all been very busy working with Cathy Simon and Karen Alschuler to transfer the SMWM records to the Archives. The Archives has also been working with designers Ron Herman, Jim Jennings, Claude Stoller, and the families of Donald Hisaka and Don Hardison to transfer their records to the Archives.
On May 22nd the Archives will be hosting a lecture in conjunction with the opening of the Edith Heath exhibit. More details on that to come next month. Summer is our busy season and we are wondering what scholars will spend time here at research camp. To find out about this and other happenings check out the latest issue of Tracings in the NEWS section of this website.
